Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 09:17PM I've been concerned about Lenny's (my cat) behavior. He has been licking himself bald, is in constant need of attention, and doesn't seem to be trainable. I did some research and found all these symptoms are signs of stress and hypertension. Many veterinarians recommend homeopathic medicine, so I have ordered some that are specifically good for cats with Lenny's symptoms. I hope they help. He is a very sweet cat. Everyone loves him, but his behavior problems are dangerous to him and do get annoying. I try to spend alot of time with him, but that isn't enough.
I seem to have a knack at getting cats with emotional problems. Like owner, like cat, eh?

Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 11:32PM Well, I've finally broke and upgraded to windows XP. I had been clinging onto Windows 2000 for the last 5 years, but decided it was for the best at this time. So, 'Deep Thought' as some of you might know is what I call my computer has had one more set of upgrades. New OS, video card, cordless keyboard and mouse, and hard-drive.
It was not easy to find a video card for a 5 year old motherboard, but we managed to find a 4x compatible AGP video card cause my old one seemed to be causing trouble.
The cordless keyboard and mouse are items I've been lusting at for years and they make me oh so happy now. Although, I fear that since the mouse is not tethered to the computer that my cat is going to use it for a toy. I'm totally serious. Lenny (my cat) loves to steal stuff off my desk while I'm sleeping. Oh the thankless life of a cat owner, lol.
Seagate is the greatest hard-ware manufacturer ever! My bios was only able to see up tp 137gb hard-drives, but Seagate now has software that comes with their drives that will basically do a little mini flash of your bios and allow you to see larger drives. My new 250gb hard-drive is already 75% full, but I am oh so happy.
5 years and counting...'Deep Thought', please don't die on me now.

Friday, October 6, 2006 at 11:46PM So, I was good in not keeping my hopes up for the whole jazz gig. The guy has a massive ego and no patience it seems. I suppose I have to learn to deal with such egos if I'm serious about a music career, but for now, I don't need this gig. I'll focus on my own music.
My personal computer technician (who I call "mom") will be visiting soon to upgrade my OS. After I get that done, I will get fruityloops installed and just maybe get some poor quality recordings posted on this site.
For now, I'm leaving what I've got on the player cause I'm too lazy to change it. But I may update soon with new songs that fit my mood.

Friday, October 6, 2006 at 11:34PM Ok, so I've been pretty broke lately. Barely hanging by a thread financially. I've got a new job (yay), but still wait for that first pay check. Gotta hold out till the 15th.
Anyway, as some of you might know, I've become an expert at using CVS coupons to survive. Our local Osco is now a CVS and with this came the mass mailing of coupons. Those that are especially important to my survival have been the free $25 gift card for new or transferred prescriptions. For once, having to take about a handful of drugs a day has come in handy. So far I have accumulated $75 worth of gift cards. I have coupons for 2 for worth $25 each. I've also used instant $20 coupons when refilling prescriptions, of which I only have one left to use before the end of October.
Yes, CVS has treated me well. This is the first store with a membership card that is actually useful. Because of the card I've gotten $6 worth of free spending coupons on anything in the store and an additional $25 gift card with a new prescription.
Fleecing CVS for all it's worth may be an option for you as well in the Bridgeport area. It definitely helps if you take alot of prescriptions.
Taking my CVS brand Tylenol with my CVS brand bottled water,
Rae

Sunday, October 1, 2006 at 11:09PM i decided I can no longer RSVP to any event anymore, unless prepaying is a requirement. I have missed two event in two days that I had said I would attend. I hate being that person who says they will be there and isn't. There are too many "ifs" in my life to predict whether attendance to any event is possible. I can try to plan for it but if circumstances, work, or my body decide otherwise. It just isn't going to happen.
This is a public apology for those I let down this week.
I don't want to be the irresponsible friend who never shows up when she says she will.
Therefore, for now on, I will be the drop in guest, unexpected guest, hopefully, with a bottle of wine in hand.
Please continue to invite me to things, just don't expect me to RSVP. I know what an incredible annoyance this is. But until I have control of time, luck, and my health. That's just the way it is.
Sorry again.
You don't know how much an invitation means to me, event if I can't make it there. Thanks.

Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 01:47PM For those of you who like to call the ice cream place, Scoops, "Fronties", then you should refer to my new livejournal account as such. I joined LiveJournal simply so I could be part of the whole livejournal community, but really it's just a front for this website. There is really no content on my LiveJournal. There is a link to this site.
I've got a Livejournal account now with the screen name "hurricanerae" (surprise, surprise). So, if you've got a LiveJournal Account, add me to your friends. I've already added a couple of you.
Maybe I'll make one post entitled, "Welcome to Fronties"
Rae out...

Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 01:49AM There is now a new link in the Navigation Menu for Play List. Here I have added a few song. Right now I have added songs that I might have the opportunity to perform with an established Jazz band. But i'm not keeping my hopes up. I'd love to hear feed back on what 3 songs you think, I should perform.
Rae
Been getting some confused looks from people, so let me explain further.
There is an established jazz band looking for amateur singers to sing a couple songs for a gig. I responded immediately. He responded saying name three song you would like to perform w/ sheet music or the like, if possible.
I wrote back for a little clarification, but got a auto reply saying he'd be out of town through the 30th. So, I won't get to know anything till probably the 1st, if he even responds.
This is why I say, I'm not getting my hopes up.
However, it is a good excuse to put a music player on the site.

Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 10:57PM Back when my sister still lived at home with my folks and I, my sister had found this sit dedicated to Tall, Thin, and Tortured men and the women who love them. I'm watching a movie staring Paul Bettany, and it made me think of this site. Paul is definitely a "Triple T" as we use to call them call them. Sadly, the site is no longer in existence. Hmmm, maybe some day I will give this site a rebirth.
To all the Triple Ts and even for those of you who aren't.
A tribute to you.

Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 08:13PM Well, I haven't really been keeping up with this blogging/journal thing, but lots has happened in the past few months, and I will randomly tell you of some such events as I feel like it while also interweaving present events and thoughts. If it gets confusing...well, now you're just like the rest of us. Heh.
For those who don't know, I have my own place now, but no job to pay for it. I also have a cat, who currently gets a higher food budget than I do.
I wasn't planning on getting a cat, but I just picked Lenny (that's his name) off the side of the road...literally. I was driving home, back in Indiana, and he was sitting all huddled like by the side of the road. There are alot of barn cats around where i grew up, but if they are healthy they run away from cars. Lenny just sat there as a drove slowly beside him. Taking all precautions, I decided to take him to the animal emergency vet clinic. They said he was hypothermic and didn't give him much of a chance. But the next day, after a night in the incubator, the vets were much more optimistic and sent him home with me (after shots and tests and medication was taken care of).
For the first 2 months he hid almost all the time and we'd have to hunt him down to show him some lovin and had a hell of a time doing it. We tried putting a bell on him, but it didn't work. He moved like a ninja. We rarely heard his bell actually make a sound. He had to stay with my folks until I could find a place that allowed cats because one of my room-mates was allergic. Boo-fucking-Hoo. (Did I say that out loud?) ;-P
So now the cat, who could find a hiding place in an empty white-wash room, is meowing at me. He must have lost all his toys under the oven or the fridge or the dresser or some other places I've yet to find. That cat has more than half a dozen toys and I have to make rounds two (sometime three) times a day fishing them all out from underneath something. I never said he was bright. I've got to make barriers to save me from this routine, but...I'm lazy. But not too lazy to go retrieve cat toys, which now I must do...or...I could just sit here and watch him chase his own tail, apparently the only toy NOT under furniture or appliances right now.
Meow,
Rae

Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 01:35PM Theory 1: There is a mass conspiracy of environmentalist to decrease the size of trash cans so small that you have no choice but to put your refuse in the recycling bin. (Because even though it all goes to the same place, the color blue is so much more environmentally friendly)
Theory 2: The secret to complete invisibility is to ride a bicycle. (This must be true because of the number of times I've almost run over a pedestrian before having to shout, "Hey, fuckhead, I'll do more damage to you than you will to me!")
